Press Release: Thursday, October 14, 2004 For Immediate Release Contact: Marjy Ito (510) 552-1885 E-mail: marjyito@yahoo.com
An informational forum, open to the public will be held on Wednesday, October 20th at 7:00pm at the Community Place, the former Fremont Bowl, located on Peralta Blvd. between Fremont Blvd. and Sequoia. This meeting will focus on explaining the various ballot measures, especially the initiatives to the Asian, Indo-American and Muslin communities. This significant community meeting came about because the Citizens for Better Community decided to host a voter information forum to explain the ballot measures to their constituents as well as other interested Fremont voters. In the process of looking for a place in which to hold this event, Steve Cho mentioned that he had attended the opening of The Community Place, and they had a meeting room, which was available for rental to the public. When Steve contacted them and explained the purpose of the event, they said they also wanted to be active participants. This community event is noteworthy because it demonstrates the interest members of these groups have in understanding the propositions in order to make an intelligent decision via their vote. Various individuals will explain the different propositions on the ballot. For more information about this important community event contact Marjy Ito at (510) 552-1885 or by e-mail to marjyito@yahoo.com For more information about Steve Cho, please visit www.stevecho.net
